Five die after inhailing poisonous gas

Puducherry, Dec 30 (UNI) Five persons were killed and two others injured in a mishap at a private packaging industry at Thiruvandarkoil near here this afternoon.

According to police, one person accidentaly fell into the water recycling plant of the company and others, one after the another, dived into it in a bid to save him.

While Abu Dabi (24), Ameer Seen (24), both from Madagadaippattuppalayam, John Kennedy (24) from Tiruchi, Sivanandam (37) and Kannan (36) died after reportedly inhailing poisonous gas from the plant, Vigneswaran and Bharat (both 24) sustained injuries.

The bodies of the deceased were later taken to Government General Hospital for post-mortem.
