Delhi retains Taekwon-Do National Championship
Panaji, Dec 30 (UNI) Delhi retained their title today, claiming 54 medals which included 14 gold,11 silver and 19 bronze in the 21st National Taekwon-Do Championship organised by the Goa Taekwon-do Federation, which concluded here at the Don Bosco indoor complex.
Karnataka and Nagaland had to be content with the second and third place respectively. The former won a total of 40 medals which included 8 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze while Nagaland bagged 21 medals including 8 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze.
Delhi's Jyotsna Singh and Nagaland's Obed Zhimomi were adjudged the best female and best male players respectively.
Nagaland was adjudged the best disciplined team.
The venue for conducting next year's National championship has been allotted to Kolkata, and the same will be held from December 27 to 30, 2007.
The chief guest, Goa Olympic Association's secretary Mr Gurudatt Bhaktha, felicitated the winners.
