Bush effigy ''hanged'' in Hisar

Hisar, Dec 30 (UNI) An effigy of US President George W Bush was ''hanged'' here today by the activists of CPI (M) and its allied organisations in protest against the execution of deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.

Hundreds of activists of various parties gathered at a city chowk under the aegis of 'Jan sangthan Manch' (Public Struggle Front) and ''hanged'' the effigy of the US president and raised slogans against him.

Besides CPM, the other organsations which participated in the protest included CITU, Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Sabha, Janvadi Mahila Samiti, Bank Employees Fedreation and Sarv Karmchari Sangh.

Addressing the protesters, various leaders criticised the US administration for attacking Iraq and Afghanistan in the name of fight against terrorism.
