Black Elephant Club defeat YPS by 7 wickets
Patiala, Dec 30 (UNI) In a low scoring match, Black Elephant Cricket Club, Patiala, thrashed the local Yadavindra Public School (YPS) by seven wickets in the crucial semi-final match of the 6th Dhruve Pandove Cricket Tournament (Under-14) here today.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, YPS were skittled out for a paltry 68 in 25 overs. Chashampreet Singh with 20 and Rajeshwar (13) were the only batsmen who played with some responsibility, the other batsmen falling like nine pins.
For Black Elephant, Sandeep Singh bowled exceedingly well to capture 3 wickets, conceding only 7 runs. Karan Kaila and Sukhwinder Singh captured two wickets each, giving away 6 and 15 runs respectively.
In reply, Black Elephant Cricket Club scored 69 losing just three wickets with ease. Prabhjot Singh, unbeaten on 17 set the trend to carve out victory. Vikrant scored 12. For YPS, Harkirat Singh took 2 wickets, giving away 7 runs.
The final will be played here tomorrow at the Army ground.
