BJP-Shiv Sena enter into a pact for Nagpur civic polls
Nagpur, Dec 30 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced that they and the Shiv Sena have finalised a seat-sharing formula for the forthcoming February 1 elections in the 136 wards of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
The BJP will contest 120 seats and the Shiv Sena will field nominees in 12 seats, while there would be 'friendly fights' in the remaining four wards, a BJP spokesman said.
The seat sharing was worked out during a meeting in which BJP state unit president Nitin Gadkari and city unit president Sudhakar Deshmukh had with Shiv Sena MP Subodh Mohite and others, the spokesman added.
