All India Urdu Munch to launch agitation

Gulbarga, Dec 30 (UNI) All India Urdu Prachara Sabha (AIUPS) has chalked out state-wide agitational programme to protest against the Karnataka Government's alleged indifferent attitude in promoting Urdu language, AIUPS President Raugh Khadri said today.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh Rs Five crore has been sanctioned for improve of Urdu language. In Maharashtra Rs One crore was sanctioned for the purpose, he added.

Mr Khadri alleged that injustice was meted out to Urdu by the state government in Rajyotsava Awards. "There should be separate Selection Committee set up to choose candidates for the Award", he demanded.

He said that agitation would be held in District headquarters and Dharna would be staged in front of Chief Minister's residence next month.
