2 killed, five injured as auto-rickshaw rams into tractor-trolley
Nagpur, Dec 30 (UNI) Two persons were killed on the spot and five others injured when the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in, rammed into a tractor-trolley parked on the road near Shegaon in Buldhana district of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
According to police, the accident occurred late last night due to poor visibility caused by headlight of an approaching truck. The auto driver could not see the tractor-trolly as his eyes were dazzled by the headlights of the truck.
The auto-rickshaw (MH-28/H-3033) was on its way from Khamgaon, to Shegaon, police said.
The tractor-trolley was parked on the road because of a breakdown.
The names of those killed were given as Sachin Barad (30), a resident of Shegaon, and Bhikabai Moreshwar Meshre (52), a resident of Khamgaon. The names of the injured were given as Sadashiv Moreshwar Meshre (22), Saraswati Suresh Ite (42), Raju Maruti Ghatte (32), all residents of Khamgaon, Kiran Arun Dongre (27) and Nikhil Pangale (29), both residents of Shegaon.
Meshre, Ite and Ghatte have been admitted to a hospital in Khamgaon, police added.
