11th Five Year Plan to focus more on agriculture: Minister
Coimbatore, Dec 30 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajasekharan today said the 11th Five Year Plan will focus more on agricultural sector.
Talking to mediapersons here, the Minister noted that during the recent National Development Meet, all the state Chief Ministers had submitted their proposals, which focussed more on agriculture.
On job creation, he said the new plan proposes to create over 70 million new jobs and the Centre was concentrating on starting small and medium industries.
He said the Centre was planning to start over 1500 Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) all over the country.
On the Singur controversy, the Minister said the Centre would not involve itself in the issue as it concerned a particular state and it was that state's duty to resolve it.
