Three of family commit suicide

Dindigul, Dec 29: Three members of a family allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide tablets meant for treating coconut trees, at Oddanchathiram near here last night, police said today.

Police said the deceased were identified as Nagaraj (42), his wife Meenakshi (36) and their six-year-old daughter Anupriya.

Neighbours, who noticed that no one came out of the house, entered and saw all three lying on the floor, struggling for life.

They were rushed to a private hospital, where they succumbed.

Police said they might have resorted to this extreme step due to mounting debts.
