TDP leader arrested, released on bail
Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 29 (UNI) The district police arrested former minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Ramasubba Reddy and 16 others following a clash between Congress and the Telugu Desam Party activists near Bheemagundam village in Jammalamadugu mandal of this district.
Police said the Congress and the TDP activists pelted stones on each other last night during a rally in which one woman was injured.
Police arrested Mr Reddy and 16 others to maintain law and order in the faction-ridden Jammalamadugu mandal.
The TDP leader and six others were produced before the Jammalamadugu Magistrate, who immediately granted them bail.
While Mr Reddy and six of his associates were released on bail this morning, ten others were lodged in district jail, police added.
