TDP asks govt to pay compensation to farmers
Hyderabad, Dec 29 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today demanded the government pay compensation to farmers who lost their crops due to power scarcity.
Alleging the state government has failed to supply uninterrupted power to the agriculture sector, Mr Naidu told newsmen the admministration saved Rs 600 crore by supplying only seven hours of power to them.
Demanding the government take steps to prepare action plan to supply nine-hour power to the farmers, he said the TDP would continue its struggle for regular electricity supply to agriculture sector at the village level.
Mr Naidu alleged the Congress Government had not helped produce even a single additional unit of power to meet the requirements of the farm sector.
