Spl trains to Howrah, Melmaruvathur
Chennai, Dec 29 (UNI) The Southern Railway will run special trains between Chennai Central-Howrah and Bangalore-Melmaruvathur to clear the extra rush of passengers.
Southern Railway, in a press release here today said the Chennai Central-Howrah special will leave at 2300 hrs on December 31 and reach Howrah at 0400 hrs on January 2.
The train will stop at Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajajmundry, Samalkot, Duvvada, Vizianagaram, Brahmapur, Balugaon, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore and Kharagpur.
Advance reservation for the train will commence tomorrow.
The Bangalore-Melmaruvathur special train will depart Bangalore City at 1845 hrs on January 6 and reach Melmaruvathur at 0245 hrs, the next day. In the return direction, the train will leave Melmaruvathur at 1745 hrs on January 7 and arrive Bangalore City at 0400 hrs, the next day.
The train will stop at Bangalore Cant, Krishnarajapuram, Whitefield, Bangarpet, Kuppam, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam and Chengalpattu.
Also special trains will be operated on Arakonam-Tiruttani suburban section on December 31 and January 1 for the annual Thiruppugazh Thiruppadi festival at Tiruttani, the release added.
