Priest sexually harassed tribal

Patthalgaon, Dec 29 (UNI) Villagers took out a rally here today in protest against the alleged sexual harassment of a young tribal at Ludeg's Catholic Ashram in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district and demanded the accused's immediate arrest.

The victim hailed from here and was targeted by Priest Anima Prakash Minj. The demonstrators warned that an intense agitation would be launched if the accused was not apprehended in a week.

Later the villagers raised slogans at the police station.

Patthalgaon's Mahila Jagriti Manch submitted to the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) a memorandum addressed to Governor Krishna Mohan Seth.

''It is rather unfortunate that the accused is still eluding arrest,'' said Bharatiya Janata Party office-bearer Roshan Sai.

On December 18, the victim lodged a complaint here but police raids failed to net the priest.
