PM holds telephonic talks with Bhattacharjee
Kolkata, Dec 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today held telephonic talks with West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, hours after Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee called-off her 25-day hunger strike on the Singur issue.
Chief Minister's secretariat confirmed that the telephonic conversation took place this morning. However, nothing was said about the subject of discussion.
Ms Banerjee withdrew her hunger strike at midnight yesterday at the intervention of President A P J Abdul Kalam, Dr Manmohan Singh and former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
She had started the fast on December four, protesting the acquisition of agricultural land at Singur for Tata Motors' small car project.
