One killed, two HM militants arrested in Kashmir
Srinagar, Dec 29 (UNI) One person was killed and three militants, including two of the Hizbul Mujahideen, were arrested and a large cache of arms and ammunition recovered in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said.
He said militants planted an improvised explosive deice (IED) in a grave yard to target Central Reserve Police Force 96 batallion 'naka' party at Hawal under Zadibal police station.
However, the IED exploded when a motorcyclist was passing the area killing him.
The deceased was identified as Shabir Hussain Khan.
The spokesman said police and security forces arrested an HM militant along with one rifle grenade at Aali Masjid in the down town here while another militant of the same outfit was apprehended at Iddgah.
An overground worker was arrested at Chaka Bhaderwah in Doda district. He was forcing youths to join militancy, the spokesman added.
Security forces and police busted three hideouts and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition including six rockets, two AK rifles, five hand grenades, five plastic remote IED boxes and 400 rounds of ammunition in Rajouri, Poonch and Doda districts.
However, no one was arrested, the spokesman added.
