Nothing to implement in Sacchar committee report

Lucknow, Dec 29: All India Congress Minority Cell chief Imran Kidwai today said Sacchar Commmittee has given no recommendations required to be implemented by the centre.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Kidwai said Sacchar Committee only hightlighted the minorities' status and presented facts and figures over the present condition of minorities in India.

''As the committee has given no recommendation, there is no question of its implementation,'' he maintained.

Announcing that a minority convention would be organised by the Congress minority cell at Aligarh on January 15, he said similar conventions would also be held at Jhansi, Varanasi, Kanpur and end with a big conference in Lucknow.

In the convention, the party will highlight the false claims of the Mulayam Singh Yadav government to appease the minorities to woo their vote bank.

''SP is only talking about Muslim welfare, but actually doing the opposite,'' he claimed.
