Man held for penning book critical of Mahabharatha

Chennai, Dec 29: Central Crime Branch Police have arrested the founder president of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Makkal Katchi S M Basha for writing and publishing a book in English, which criticises the epic Mahabharatha, here last night.

Based on a complaint from Meenakhshisundaram, Secretary, Chennai District Hindu Makkal Katchi, police searched the house of Mr Basha and seized 70 copies of the book titled 'A Brief Anatomy of the Mahahabharatha'.

Police said the arrested would be remanded today.
