Jasjeet clinches Royal Challenge RCGC Cup

Kolkata, Dec 29 (UNI) GAIL India's Jasjeet Singh shot a round of eight over 80 to clinch the Royal Challenge RCGC Cup here today.

Jasjeet, who started the final day with a 12 stroke cushion over Himmat Rai, eventually finished with a winning tally of 282, six strokes clear of Saurabh Bahuguna who finished second at 288 after shooting a level par today.

Himmat Rai shot a final round of four over 76 to finish third at 290 while the duo of Gagan Verma and Raj Randhawa finished tied fourth at 292 after shooting rounds of 73 and 74 respectively.

Jasjeet began on a shaky note and after a series of pars, he managed a bogey on the fourth, followed by a triple bogey on the eighth, which was again followed by a bogey on the ninth as he turned at five over.

On his return leg, Jasjeet started with a bogey on the 10th, followed by a double bogey on the 11th which was again followed by a bogey on the 14th. His only birdie came on the 16th hole.

Bahuguna had three birdies on the fourth, 11th and 15th and equal number of bogies on the sixth, ninth and 18th.
