Jamnagar policeman lands in ACB net
Junagadh, Dec 29 (UNI) A police constable, Shardul Kana Boricha, has been caught red-handed for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 in Jamnagar by the Junagadh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
On December 14, 2006 Boricha had stopped Bhavesh Kishore Davda who was driving his Maruti car in an inebriated state. He allegedly demanded Rs 5,000 to hush up the case and was even paid Rs 3,000 earlier.
However, when Baricha started pressurising the Davda family for the balance amount, Bhavesh's father, Mr Kishore Mathura Das approached the Junagadh ACB.
Subsequently, a trap was laid in Jamnagar yesterday evening and Boricha was apprehended, ACB police inspector Mr D P Jhala said.
