First Flight brings B'lore on air cargo network
New Delhi, Dec 29: First Flight Couriers has added Bangalore to its recently started aviation operations.
With this, the company is now offering direct connectivity between the main trade hubs, Chennai, Bangalore Mumbai and Delhi.
Introduction of the daily flightlift capacity of eight tonnes to Bangalore also enables First Flight to offer latter cut off times to its customers, enabling them to connect to outbound consignment loads in a shorter time. It is also now able to provide airlift capacity to heavy machinery and large consignments.
With Indian manufacturers now looking to compete with global turnaround delivery schedules, logistics support often becomes the key differentiator for the exporters, said company's deputy managing director R K Saboo.
First Flight has recently announced the set up of a fullfledged logistics division along with a slew of enhancements to its service offerings aimed at providing an effective distribution mechanism to the companies aiming to participate in the retail boom.
The company is India's second largest domestic courier company with current growth trend estimated to achieve Rs 300 crore and pickups over 85 million shipments each day through its network of 751offices across the country, covering 1,800 destinations serving more than 5000 pin codes.
