Fire engulfs ginning factory

Yavatmal, Dec 29 (UNI) A fire broke out in the Balaji Ginning Factory of Mukutban in Zari Jamni tehsil of Yavatmal district, about 250 kms from here today, gutting cotton stored in the premises.

Fire tenders from Yavatmal were pressed into service and the blaze was brought under control after four hours. The exact cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained. police sources said.

According to Mukutban Police Station sources, they received a call informing that there was a fire in the Factory at about 1000 hours and accordingly fire tenders from Yavatmal were summoned. The local residents helped in the dousing operation before the fire tenders reached the site.

A couple of days ago, another private ginning factory in Mukutban area was gutted in a fire.

However, there was no loss of life in both the fires, police sources told UNI.
