Committee formed to study traffic regulation

Puducherry, Dec 29 (UNI) A 22-member standing committee has been constituted for traffic regulation in the union terriotory.

According to an offical release here today Chief Minster N Rangasamy will be the chairman of the Committee which will also consist of his cabinet collegues, the offical members besides legislators K Lakshminarayanan, R Siva and A Anbazhagan and the chairpersons of Puducherry and Ozhukarai municipalities.

Former chief minister R V Janakiraman, Puducherry Bus Owners Association, President P Kannan and Lorry Ownwrs Association President, among others would be the non-officio members.

The committee would meet as and when necessery to review the traffic problems here. Complaints and suggestions received from the members and other sources would be considered and the recommendations would be forwarded to the concerned departmsnts to take action with the view to achieve proper results in traffic regulation.
