Cleanliness campaign catches on in MP
Indore, Dec 29 (UNI) With this district's Bachhoda village receiving Madhya Pradesh's first Nirmal Gram award, the entire district's villages have joined the cleanliness campaign.
Within a year, the practice of defecating in the open ended at 34 villages where each home now has a toilet. The temptation of receiving an award, from a personage no less than the President, has made each of these villages claim itself as a Nirmal Gram.
Collector Vivek Agrawal toured Rijlai village yesterday.
''Every lane of this village, having about 150 homes, has a cement-concrete road. A toilet has been built even for migrant labour,'' said Sarpanch Ramswaroop Gehlod.
