BSF to acquire new helicopters, attacking boats

Jaisalmer, Dec 29: The Border Security Force (BSF) will soon acquire new helicopters and attacking boats to strengthen security along the borders of the country.

This was stated by Director General, BSF, A K Mitra while talking to reporters here. Mr Mitra, who is touring the Rajasthan Frontier, said modernisation of BSF in keeping with the times, is in the last phase.

The BSF jawans have been provided with new age rifles and battlefield surveillance radars have been installed in the borders.

The hand head thermal imager have already been installed in the border posts.

To strengthen its air wing, the BSF is acquiring modern helicopters and four attacking craft boats which can move with speed in both water and marshy land. The boat will be able to carry 21 people at a time.
