Air Vice Marshal A S Karnik to command Maritime air operations
Mumbai, Dec 29 (UNI) Air Vice Marshal Ajay Shrinivas Karnik will assume the command of Maritime Air Operations Headquarters as Air Officer Commanding on January 2, 2007.
He replaces Air Vice Marshal S S Hothi. Air Vice Marshal Karnik is a Fighter Combat leader and a qualified all purpose flying instructor. He is a graduate and an alumni of the Air War College, Air University, Alabama, US, a press release issued here today said.
Air Vice Marshal Karnik was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF in June 1972. He has vast experience in operational flying, training, command and staff appointments. He was the Senior Air Staff Officer of the Southern Air Command which is responsible for all Southern states of India, prior to his present appointment, the release added.
