TN, Karnataka, Andhra enter semi-finals

Thalassery, Dec 28 (UNI) Defending Champions Karnataka, last year runner-up Tamil Nadu and Andhra have entered the semi-finals of the 19th South Zone Senior Men's Hockey Championship held here today.

Tamil Nadu defeated Hyderabad and Pudussery in the two matches played today.

In the first match, they beat Hyderabad by a solitary goal and in the other match, Pudussery was defeated by a goal.

In the first match against Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu's Madhu Selvam scored a goal in the 65th minute through a penalty corner.

Indian player Adam Sinclair performed well for Tamil Nadu with attacking moves, while Radhakrishnan scored a goal through field game in the 52nd minute against Pudussery.

Karnataka also won the two matches played against Andhra and Kerala. In the first match, Karnataka defeated Andhra through a goal scored by K T Dinesh in the 30th minute.

In the second match against Kerala, Karnataka thrashed the home team 3-0.

Somanna struck a brace in the 16th minute through a field goal and again scored another through a penalty corner in the 58th minute.

K T Dinesh scored the third goal in the 57th minute.
