Three booked in food poisoning case
Akola, Dec 28 (UNI) Three persons have been booked for alleged food poisoning of more than hundred students through confectionery tablets, at village Ganpur in Mehkar taluka of adjoining Buldhana district.
The wholesale confectionery dealer Manik Pandhari Lokhande, the shopkeeper in village Ganpur Vithoba Ashru Kavar and Kanhaiya Rangwani of Kanhaiya Food Products, Akola have been booked under section 273 and 336 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) yesterday, police said.
Meanwhile, officials of Food and Drugs Administration department here raided the factory of Kanhaiya Food Products and seized some confectionery materials for checking.
Factory owner Kanhaiya Rangwani said the incident might have happened due to consumption of confectionery tablets after expiry date.
