Quake shakes Meghalaya

Shillong, Dec 28 (UNI) An earthquake of light intensity shook Meghalaya's capital Shillong today.

The tremor, having a magnitude of 2.9 on the Richter scale, occurred at 0229 hrs (IST) with its epicentre about 25 km away from Central Seismological Observatory (CSO) at Upper Shillong, CSO officials told UNI here.

They said there was no report of any loss of life and property.
