LU expels 38 students including student union officebearers

Lucknow, Dec 28 (UNI) Taking a tough stance against agitating students, Lucknow University (LU) has expelled 38, including Students' Union president Bajrangi Singh, vice president Brijesh Yadav and general secretary Vinod Tripathi.

According to varsity sources here today, the students were expelled yesterday after about 50 teachers of different committees approved the decision.

It was also decided that all these would be not be allowed to seek re-admission.

The administration has banned their entry in the varsity campus and if they are found inside, then strict action would be taken against them.

The varsity has handed over the list of expelled students to the district and police administration, seeking their cooperation.

The decision was taken in a meeting headed by LU Vice Chancellor R P Singh, who has taken a tought stance against violence in the campus.

According to sources, the varsity is also planning to expel another 50 students.

Expulsion orders were issued as the suspended students with criminal antecedents failed to submit their replies to the varsity.

However, those expelled also included some students, who had filed their replies.
