Kenyan student drowned

Puducherry, Dec 28 (UNI) A student hailing from Kenya was drowned in the Bay of Bengal at Auroville near here on Christmas day, police today said.

According to police, the accident occurred when Jonathan (22), who was studying a pharmacy course in a private college at Erode, had come to Auroville on December 25 and went for a bath in the sea. He was dragged away by high tides. The body was washed ashore here last evening. Police sent the boady to the Government General Hospital for post-mortem.

The body was handed over to his friends who arrived here today from Erode.
