Civil surgeon's bail petition rejected

Patna, Dec 28 (UNI) Special CBI judge of Patna Radheshyam Prasad today rejected the regular bail petition of former civil surgeon of Rohtas district Dr Ramawatar Prasad in a case of multi crore rupees Medical Store Depot (MSD) scam of Bihar.

The case related to irregularities committed in purchase of medicines worth of over Rs 3 crores in Rohtas district from government medical store depot of Kolkata in 1998. Dr Prasad was posted as civil surgeon of Rohtas district during the relevant period.

Accused Dr Prasad is lodged in jail in the case from December 20, 2006. CBI had already submitted chargesheet in the case against Dr Prasad and four others in 2004.
