Bajaj Hindusthan posts 36pc increase in PAT

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) Bajaj Hindusthan Ltd (BHL), leading sugar company in the cuntry, today posted a 36 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 190.8 crore for the financial year ended September 30, 2006, in comparison to Rs 140.4 crore during the previous year.

The company's total revenues rose 74 per cent to Rs 1,486.8 crore, from Rs 854.8 crore in the last year.

BHL's sugar volumes increased by 57 per cent during the year to touch 7,20,798 tonnes.

''Our expansions have enabled us achieve benefits of scale and has had a positive impact on the costs,'' company's Chairman and Mangaing Director Shishir Bajaj said.

The company's distillery of 1,60,000 litres per day will become operational by March next year.
