Autorickshaw run flagged off

Kochi, Dec 28 (UNI) A unique autorickshaw rally 'Riksha Run' from here to Darjeeling, 2500 km away, was flagged off today.

As many as 75 foreigners in 34 teams from seven countries were taking part in the rally organised by a UK-based adventure company.

The rally would culminate at the hill station in West Bengal in two weeks, sources said.

The money received in the course of the rally would be used for humanitarian activities and the autorickshaws taking part in the rally would be distributed to poor people in Darjeeling, the sources added.
