2 Ayyappa devotees from AP killed in road mishap

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 28 (UNI) Two ayyappa devotees from Andhra Pradesh were killed and three seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus near Thuvarangkurichi on the Kovilpatti-Madurai road, about 60 km from here today.

Police sources said five ayyappa devotees from Narasimhapet in Warangal District of Andhra Pradesh were returning to their native place in a car after a pilgrimage to Sabarimala, when the mishap occurred.

While Venkateshwaralu (33) was killed on the spot, Kishore (30) succumbed to injuries on way to hospital. The injured were rushed to a private hospital here. The bus driver was arrested, police said.
