Two missing girls from Haryana traced in Srinagar
Karnal, Dec 27 (UNI) Two of the four young girls, who went missing here around Christmas, have been traced from a church in Srinagar.
The two girls were friends and studying in the twelth standard.
They went missing on December 23 after they did not return home from their school.
Missionary material recovered from their books led the police to interrogate the priest of a church located in Karnal. Meanwhile, a call from one of the girls from Srinagar confirmed their whereabouts and later both of them were brought back here.
It is learnt that some local leaders had threatened the Church authorities in Srinagar of dire consequences if the girls were not handed over to their parents.
Superintendent of Police Sibas Kaviraj said the interrogation of the girls was still on. He said it was difficult to say as yet whether the girls had gone on their own or were taken to Srinagar.
Two other girls, who hail from Basant Bihar colony here, are yet to be traced.
