Three killed as vehicle falls into river

Berhampur, Dec 27 (UNI) Three persons were killed and four injured when a vehicle carrying them fell into the Ghodagada river near Digapahandi, about 35-km from here today.

Police said the vehicle was proceeding to Berhampur from Dharakote when the driver lost control while negotiating a turn near Godahada bridge.

The vehicle dashed against the protected wall of the bridge and fell into the river 50-feet below. Local people and fire brigade personnel rescued the injured from the river and admitted them to the community health centre at Digapahandi.

They were later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.

The deceased were identified as the Royal scion of Purunapatnam Raghunath Deb (45) his son Ashis Kumar Deb (12) and another relative Siba Prasad Jena Samant(40).
