Seven bills introduced in HP Assembly

Dharamshala, Dec 27 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government today introduced seven bills, including HP Freedom of Religion Bill and HP Parliamentary Secretaries (Appointment, Salaries, Allowances, Powers, Priviliges and Amenities) Bill in the Assembly.

While the HP Freedom of Religion Bill and HP Parliamentary Secretaries (Appointment, Salaries, Allowances, Powers, Priveliges and Amendment) Bill) has been introduced for the first time, the remaining five are amendments.

The Freedom of Religion Bill proposes to ban religious conversions from one religion to another by the use of force or inducement to maintain mutual trust between the different ethnic and religious groups.

On the other hand, the Parliamentary Secretaries Bill provides for appointment of Chief Parliamentary Secretaries (CPSs) and Parliamentary Secretaries (PSs) to strengthen the parliamentary affairs besides defining their allowances, duties, functions and their salaries.

The Parliamentary Secretaries Bill proposes a salary of Rs 11,000 to CPSs and Rs 10,000 to the PSs), besides compensatory allowance and other perquisites as admissible to other members.

The other amendment bills introduced in the Assembly included the HP Town and Country Planning (Second Amendment) Bill, HP Tenancy and Land Reforms (Amendment) Bill, HP Protection of interests of depositors (In Financial Establishments) Amendment Bill and the HP Prohibition of Smoking and Non Smoking and Non Smokers Health Protection (Amendment) Bill.
