Ranji: MP's victory target is 259

Indore, Dec 27 (UNI) Bundling out Goa for 240 runs, hosts Madhya Pradesh set themselves a target of 259 for winning a Ranji Trophy Plate Group A encounter at the Usha Raje Cricket Ground here.

At stumps on the third day, Madhya Pradesh were 69 for the loss of a wicket in the second innings.

Resuming at an overnight score of 67/2, the visitors took the total to 240 aided by a scintillating knock of 78 by skipper S Asnodkar. Rohit Asnodkar made 34 while N Haldipur contributed 24. T Sudheendra scalped 4 batsmen, A Rajan and S Pandey claimed 2 each while S A Ali took 1.

At the end of the day's play, Madhya Pradesh's Amit Paul (32) and A Jadhav (0) were at the crease.
