Pranab stresses on encouraging literature

Gwalior, Dec 27 (UNI) Stressing on encouragement to literature, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said that it not only developed positive thinking and provided direction to society but also proved helpful in stamping out evils such as corruption.

''Literature is like a sea whose joy can be obtained only by diving into it,'' said the minister who was in this citadel town to attend the Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan's 79th All India Annual Literary and Cultural Convention.

Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Social Justice Narayan Singh Kushwah also addressed the gathering.
