Man, posing as Ghaziabad DM arrested for duping people
New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Police have arrested one person, posing as District Magistrate of Ghaziabad, at Nizamuddin in south Delhi for allegedly duping several people of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing jobs.
Sajid Ali (42), a resident of Uttam Nagar in West Delhi, was arrested yesterday while delivering the appointment letter to a decoy client, the police said.
Several incriminating documents, forged appointment letters, fake stamps and ID cards were recovered from his possession.
A father of seven, the accused had worked as a peon in the Naib Tehsildar Office in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said.
