Kerala Assembly appeals not to execute Saddam Hussain

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 27 (UNI) The Kerala Assembly today appealed not to execute deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussain whose death sentence was upheld by the Iraqi appeals court.

The House urged the Union Government to exert pressure for sparing the life of Mr Hussain.

A motion in this regard, moved by Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, was adopted by the House unanimously.
