Jammu, Dec 27 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma has said the state is all set to achieve 100 per cent literacy soon and catch up with developed states like Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra in this regard.

Talking to mediapersons at a function here Mr Sharma exhorted the management and staff of private educational institutions to strictly adhere to the prescribed norms for imparting better education to students.

Elaborating a number of steps taken by the government to raise educational standards at all levels, the minister said it has made education accessible to all and encouraged parents in far flung areas to send their wards to schools.
