Huge quantity of liquour seized from textile unit godown

Surat, Dec 27 (UNI) Police Task Force has seized 251 cartons of liquor containing 3012 bottles of imported foreign liquor from a textile godown at Bamroli here yesterday, police sources said.

According to Pandesara police, Surat Police Task Force was keeping Balaji Industrial Estate in Bamroli under surveillence for some days as they received information that liquour was supplied from there.

Yesterday, the Task Force conducted a sudden raid in Balaji Industrial Estate and seized 251 cartons of liquour of 950 ml whiskey bottles, from the godown.

The total value of the seized liquour was calculated at 13,00,548 police said.

Police also seized a mobile phone and a Maruti car which was used to supply the liquour to consumers, sources said.

Task Force arrested Dhansukh Balwant Modi owner of the godown.

Modi, a textile looms owner in the city, was remanded under police custody by the local court today, sources said.
