GSPC finds new gas source of 17.3 MMSCFD KG basin
Ahmedabad, Dec 27 (UNI) Gujarat Government's public sector company, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) has found another huge reserve of natural gas of 17.3 MMSCFD in Krishna-Godavari basin (K G basin) in Andhra Pradesh.
Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabh Patel today said the GSPC has found a total 17.3 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMSCFD) from well numbers K.G.8 and K.G.17 from K G Basin.
Mr Patel said, according to the primary estimations, these two wells would produce 17.3 MMSCFD natural gas per day for next 15-20 years.
He said according to present international prices of natural gas, these two wells would produce natural gas worth Rs 50 lakh perday. The total value of gas found is estimated to around Rs 3,000 crore.
The 12.5 MMSCFD natural gas was found in well No K.G.8 at the depth of 4,777 meters yesterday While, another quota of 4.8 MMSCFD of gas was found from well No K.G.17 at the depth of 3,830 meters on the same day, the Minister added.
