CM takes the initiative to save power

Hyderabad, Dec 27 (UNI) Taking the initiative to save power at a time when Andhra Pradesh has been facing a crisis, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today appealed to all sections of consumers to save as much power as possible.

''It is very difficult to generate additional power. But it is very easy to cut power consumption,'' he said, and exhorted all sections of people to cooperate with the Government to tackle the situation, he told newspersons here.

''We have put low power consuming bulbs at the Secretariat, he said.

The civic officials have also been asked to reduce the use of lights at late night hours, he said, asking all consumers to save energy by not using air conditioners and electric lights when not required, he said.
