Chouhan should accept responsibility for urea crisis: Cong

Bhopal, Dec 27 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh's main opposition Congress today alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party regime's ''collapsing'' fertiliser distribution system was to blame for an urea crisis and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should accept the moral responsibility.

''Despite the Centre's full cooperation, the state's fertiliser management failed. Due to unavailability of urea, farmers are compelled to take the law into their own hands, block roads and stage demonstrations,'' All India Congress Committee General Secretary and former chief minister Digvijay Singh said in a statement here while demanding Mr Chouhan's resignation.

Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Jamuna Devi accused the government of indulging in rhetoric.

''The regime recently said in the vidhan sabha that no such crisis existed. An artificial scarcity is now being created to benefit certain traders,'' she claimed.
