Boy kidnapped, murdered

Chennai, Dec 27 (UNI) Unidentified men kidnapped and murdered a 11-year-old boy, son of a business executive of a city-based corporate hospital, in the city last night.

Police said Aravind, a standard VI student, was playing with his friends near his residence at Virugambakkam when two men kidnapped him.

When his parents were frantically searching for him, they received a call seeking Rs five lakh in ransom for the boy's release.

The kidnappers warned the boy would be killed if the police were informed.

However, the parents passed the information to the police, who formed a special team to locate the abducted boy.

Later,a passerby noticed the body of the boy lying in a bush at Sathyamoorthy Nagar area of Virugambakkam and informed the police who took it to the Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.

The parents identified the body as their son's, police added.
