Blast near railway track in Asom

Guwahati, Dec 27 (UNI) Suspected ULFA militants exploded a bomb near a railway line in Nalbari district of lower Asom in the wee hours today.

Official reports here said the blast occurred at about 0300 hours near the broad gauge railway line at Bakura near Nalbari.

However, no casualty or damage was reported and train traffic was not disrupted.

Meanwhile, a "second lieutenant" of ULFA Seema Bora alias Pratima Borgohain was arrested at Narayanpur under Dimow police station in Sibsagar district of upper Asom.

A cadre of the 28th battalion of the outfit, police claimed that she was a powerful member of the ULFA.

Incriminating documents and a mobile phone were recovered from her.
