BJP has shown its true colours, says Cong

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) The Congress today launched a frontal attack on the BJP, saying the party had shown its true colours in its National Executive meet, held in Lucknow, "where it propagated partition and communalism in the same breath." "The BJP relies on the politics of hatred and division, instigation and provocation," Congress Spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.

"The BJP preaches what it never practices. It exposes BJP as a party of contradiction, controversies and communal colour,''he said briefing media persons here.

Accusing the BJP of practicing hypocrisy, Mr Singhvi said while the BJP attacked the minorities on the other hand it appealed to the Muslims to vote for them."This is an extreme form of hypocrisy." Refuting the allegation of appeasement of Muslims, he said the Sachar panel report exposes the hollowness of the claims of the BJP on this count.

He said while the BJP talked of criminalisation of politics, it was making a hero out of murder convict Navjot Singh Siddhu. It is this "double facedness" which allows its former Home Minister and HRD Minister to get away with the crimes they had committed, he added.

Criticising the BJP for again talking of constructing a Ram temple at Ayodhya he wondered why it did not practice what it preached during the NDA regime.

Mr Singhvi also mocked at Mr Advani's statement that former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee would not propose his name for Prime Ministership and Mr Vajpayee's comment he would fully support him."This is a hilarious comedy of musical chairs, a chair which only exists in imagination," he said."There is no vacancy for the PM's post now or in future," he added.
