Bihar to promote religious tourism
Bodhgaya, Dec 27 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today reiterated his government's resolve to tap the vast tourism potential in the state and develop important spots connected by 'Buddhist circuit' into attractive tourist centres.
Inaugurating a three-day festival titled 'Buddha Mahotsava' here this evening, Mr Kumar emphasised on concerted efforts of various agencies to upgrade infrastructural facilities.
''Teachings of Lord Buddha on peace and non violence still hold good and exhorted the people to practise His tenets in day to day life to convert the planet of ours into an ideal place to live in,'' he said.
A Buddha memorial park would be set up in Patna with a view to refreshing His activities and teachings, Mr Kumar declared.
This was the eighth edition of the festival and besides other programmes, cultural performances remain the main attraction on the occasion.
